Tom Ellett
Tom currently serves as the Executive Director of Residential Education at New York University. In his current position he has oversight for the development of the academic initiatives and community development for the largest private University residence life program in the country. Additionally he has been responsible for the areas of housing administration, facilities, residence life, budget and finance, and greek life in various positions in his career. Prior to his work at NYU, Tom served as the Director of Residence Life at Syracuse University, and held four residence life positions at Catholic University in Washington, D.C. Tom is involved in various professional organizations for housing officers and was a co-founder of the Regional Entry Level Institute for Entry-Level Housing Professionals and served as ACUHO-I's Eastern District Representative. He received his M.F.A. from Catholic University and a B.A. in English from Fordham University and is currently enrolled in a PhD program in Educational Administration and Leadership, which he plans to complete by May 2005. Tom's focus of interest includes: developing learning communities, assessing departmental programs, motivating young professionals.
